Language, Literacy & Numeracy
OUR LLN PROGRAM IS A PRE-ACCREDITED COURSE WHICH PROVIDES LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY TRAINING FOR ELIGIBLE CLIENTS FROM CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY DIVERSE (CALD) BACKGROUNDS.
The aim and main focus of our LLN program is to help people from CALD backgrounds who have had limited access to learning oppurtunities to participate in small group sessions to improve their skills. Participating in these modules will assist participants on their pathway towards accredited training and or employment in the Community and Allied Health fields. The module outcomes for students would be able to achieve language, literacy and numeracy at ACSF level II, III.
Content
- Basic Language- this module will help to develop language knowledge and speaking skills.
- Basic Writing- this module will help to develop accessing online information and writing skills.
- Employability Training- this module will help to develop job readiness skills such as resume/cover letter writing and interview practice.
- Workplace knowledge- this module will help to develop exploring community services and understanding care standards.
Duration
Participants can access 60 hours of funded training free of charge.
Pathways
This course provides learners with confidence to enter other accredited Certificate courses and qualifications, increasing their oppurtunity for employment. Employment pathways could be supported into entry-level employment and volunteer opportunities. Referrals to Registered Training Organisations/TAFE or Universities in the local area to the learner through Career advisors from those organisations.
